Yes, we have designated picnic areas with benches for your enjoyment. They are located just off the main parking area. The south picnic area is located on the south side of the parking area and features picnic-style tables and benches with some shade.

Why is it called Bok Tower?

Originally named the “Mountain Lake Sanctuary and Singing Tower” the property was renamed Bok Tower Gardens in 1986 in honor of its creator. Bok was told by his grandmother to “Make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it.” Bok Tower Gardens is a testimonial that he did that.

How deep is the moat around Bok Tower?

The 60-bell carillon occupies only the top of the Singing Tower, some of the rest contained large water tanks to irrigate the gardens, with Bok’s baronial study at the base. The 15-foot (4.6 m)-wide moat surrounding the tower’s base now serves as a koi pond.
