Who owns Cascade Mountain ski?
Phil and Adele—Walz’s grandparents—purchased the resort from its original owners in 1977. At the time, there was only one lodge and a few chair lifts. But after Walz’s parents, Rob and Vicki, took over in 2006, the family made a commitment to grow and upgrade the resort.

What is the climate in the Cascade?
The climate east of the Cascades is markedly different, a continental climate of cold, snowy winters and warm, dry summers. The continental climate extends into British Columbia, where successive mountain ranges also catch winter storms and snowfall is frequent and heavy, but summers generally are warm and dry.
How difficult is Cascade Mountain?
Cascade is generally considered to be the “easiest” of the 46 High Peaks, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a challenge! Sweeping views are only reached after ascending almost 2,000 feet. The parking area for Cascade often fills quickly, especially in the summer. Consider choosing a less popular, and less crowded, trail.
