Bobbin Head Nature Playground opened in September 2021 after briefly opening and then closing again at the end of 2020. The updates to Bobbin Head Playground are the result of a joint effort between NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and community feedback.

If you have your own boat you will have to launch from Appletree Bay, which you get to as you go through Bobbin Head. I have fished out of Appletree for a while, but theorecticaly you can catch all of standards – flatties, bream, snapper, and even the odd jew fish.

Maybe Apple Tree Bay could be a bit better. Not trying to be negative, but if you live around this area- go to Narrabeen Lake or West Head, Akuna etc. If you “need” the family affair- Pittwater has some good spots, as does the Harbour around Ball’s Head, Kirribilli, Lavender Bay etc….
