What is the maximum limit of DD?
Banks allow a maximum of Rs. 49,999 as RBI has given clear instructions to not issue a demand draft paid by cash for Rs. 50,000 or more.
What is demand draft in SBI?
In a Demand Draft, the drawee bank has to undertake the full responsibility to make payment in complete when the demand draft is presented by the payee to the bank for payment at the bank’s branch. If a bank fails to honour the draft, the liability lies entirely with the bank and not the person.
How do you avoid DD charges?
You can avoid such charges by paying through the digital mode wherever possible. This is also true of the demand draft that also entails the cost depending on the amount of the DD.
Can we make DD online SBI?
The SBI customer should be a registered to net banking. Making DD is as simple as transferring money online. Make sure there is sufficient amount in the account. Note that commission will be charged for issuing of Demand draft.
Can I take DD from any SBI branch?
Drafts are issued on our branches. They are issued on the branches of Associate Banks at centres where we do not have any branch.
Is cheque necessary for DD?
The Demand Draft can be made by paying the Bank in Cash as well, but for Demand Drafts exceeding Rs. 50,000 the payment should be by cheque only. Quoting your PAN No. is also necessary in case the value of the DD is more than Rs. 50,000.
What if a DD is lost?
Where a draft is lost, the person who was the holder thereof at the time of the loss may apply to the issuing branch of the bank to give him a duplicate, giving, if required security to the branch to indemnify it against all persons whatever in case the lost draft is found again.
Can we take DD online SBI?

Can DD amount be refunded?
If you got the DD by paying cash, then you must present the original DD along with the cash receipt. You will be refunded the money in cash after a small deduction of 50 rupees or so.
