PolyMem® is activated when it comes into contact with exudate to cleanse, absorb, fill and moisten the wound to promote healing. To activate the dressing components in dry, non-exuding wounds, e.g. necrotic wounds, moisten the dressing or wound slightly with saline or water prior to application.
How do you apply PolyMem silver dressing?
Applying PolyMem Silver*
- Prepare the wound according to local protocol.
- Select a dressing with the membrane pad (0.6 – 5cm) larger than the wound.
- Apply the dressing film side out (so printing is visible)
- Secure non-bordered dressings, with either tape, netting, gauze or bandaging.
