What plasterboard do you use for dry lining?

Depending on the type of wall or surface the plasterboard is being fixed to, two standard thicknesses of plasterboard, 9.5mm and 12.5mm, can be used. Dry lining is also possible around a door frame, with specialist door kits available to fit most standard frames.

Is it worth using insulated plasterboard?

While you could theoretically use insulated plasterboard on internal walls, it is more cost-effective to insulate the spaces between internal walls by using fibreglass or foam. Insulated plasterboard can also be used for ceilings, preventing heat from escaping through your ceiling or roof.

Can you wallpaper directly onto plasterboard?

Well, first off, there’s no law against it, so you can do it if you want to!! If you do, the downside is that you wont be able to scrape the paper off without ruining the plasterboard as the wallpaper paste will bond the wallpaper to the paper on the plasterboard. Get it skimmed!
